The YCI Global Team is delighted to announce that Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts have kicked off the second round of the YCI Big Give Campaign with a generous donation of £5,000.
The second wave of the campaign is open until Friday 11th December 2009. All donations need to be made online via www.TheBigGive.org.uk/youthcareerinitiative.
We need to raise a further £5,000 in this second wave to reach our target of £15,000 in total. Please consider supporting this directly, or help us spread the word through your own networks– even a £100 donation will go a long way to providing the much needed support to kids in poor communities around the world. The Big Give operates a challenge fund scheme under which they will match part of the sums we raise via their website. The Four Seasons’ donation has so far helped us unlock £2,500 from the Big Give Challenge Fund, and your donation could help us unlock even more.
The Youth Career Initiative (YCI) is a six month education programme, developed and delivered as a unique partnership involving major hotel chains such as Marriott, Starwood, Four Seasons, InterContinental, Orient Express and Hyatt. The programme, which has already received very significant support from Marriott, Starwood and others, helps disadvantaged young people with limited or no opportunities of finding employment or continuing in further education by providing them with the skills and confidence they need to turn their lives around. The programme empowers young people to make informed career choices, enabling them to become employable and to break the vicious cycle of poverty, social exclusion and youth exploitation.
Remember that whatever you give in December is matched by the money we have already raised and will unlock further funding from The Big Give.
All the money raised will help transform the lives of disadvantaged young people and their families.
